Baumschraube o Supporto Binocolo da Trincea prodotto dalla Carl Zeiss Jena, con numero di serie a singolo numero (Nr. X), nel 1894 circa.
Ad uso militare, veniva utilizzato nelle trincee come supporto a sgancio rapido per i binocoli: in questo caso specifico per il D.F. 4x (ma è inoltre possibile usarlo anche con altri tipi di binocoli).
Per poterlo utilizzare doveva essere "avvitato" ad un legno nelle trincee, dopodichè il militare svitava il pomello sottostante al supporto facilitandone così l'entrata della barra centrale del binocolo per poi successivamente serrarlo ruotando inversamente il pomello. È inoltre possibile scegliere l'inclinazione verso l'alto od il basso svitando il pomello posto sulla barra centrale e semplicemente ruotando il supporto dove è stabilizzato il binocolo per ruotarlo a sinistra e a destra.
Eccezionali le condizioni di conservazione e di funzionamento.

For military use, it was used in the trenches as a quick release support for binoculars: in this specific case for the D.F. 4x (but it is also possible to use it also with other types of binoculars).
To be able to use it, it had to be "screwed" to a wood in the trenches, after which the soldier unscrewed the knob underneath the support, thus facilitating the entry of the central bar of the binoculars and then subsequently tightening it by rotating the knob in reverse. It is also possible to choose the inclination up or down by unscrewing the knob on the central bar and simply turning the support where the binoculars are stabilized to rotate it to the left and to the right.
